a small caption from the maker’s diet book (if you haven’t been following my posts, it’s the 40 day diet we are doing). a lot of people have been asking me about the diet and what it does, etc. i think this paragraph sums up the book and diet very well.

i would encourage anyone to give it a try. it’s challenging, but well worth it. this is our fifth year in a row to do it (we originally researched it in our first year of marriage when i became very sick with parasites/intestinal issues). we now do it once a year. it will cleanse you, give you the jump start you may need, and i guarantee…you will also shed some weight!

my lovely canon mark II and i hung out today…well, more like worked hard. we photographed a number of lovely mommies and their kiddos for the mother’s day tribute. it was a sunny, fun day…now i’m ready to relax now and give my camera a break!

oh hannah jayde. you make my life so eventful…your humor, chattiness, ability to get into everything in two seconds, and the way you repeat anything i say or do.

you are growing too fast. while i want you to get bigger so we can really talk, get our nails done, and grab a coffee together, i also want to freeze your adorableness & innocence right now.

i was reminded today that the maker’s diet (as well as any good discipline) is not for the faint-hearted. you really have to go into it with a clear mind or mindset, sticking with your goals and keeping your eye on the prize.

we have made it one week. only 6 more days of the worst is left, and then phase two seems like a breeze. the diet in all is 40 days.

hannah was cranky today. she has a cold, so we couldn’t go to the gym and she was so fussy. i just wanted to run to the kitchen and eat a chocolate bar. and boy, was it hard not to. but i am trying to train myself, in more ways than just healthy eating.

what’s keeping us going is pounds lost (me-7, jay-11!) and energy being restored. yay!
